Sheree Mack

Welcome.

This website is for all those people who are looking for more information about me, the writer and my work.

News

I've added a new Gallery section to my website, where I am documenting my adventures into photography and visual art.

Since the beginning of 2008, I've been attempting to make a piece of art every day. This could be a poem, a drawing, a painting, or a photograph. Anything that gets me connected each day to my creative side. Check out how I've been going by visiting Every Day Creativity.

I've complete Family Album, at long last. I took time out in November 2007 in Barcelona to complete and I'm pleased I did take that time away from everything else. I would recommend it to everyone to do. Can Serrat was the place. The collection is sitting with the publishers now. Tune in soon for developments, fingers crossed xxx

I started my PhD in Creative Writing at Newcastle University in 2004. And I'm still working on it, but I think I might have got lost along the way! But getting back on track, I can see the way with the help of my dear supervisor James Procter, lovely man.

Running parallel to this research is my own poetry collection under the working title of Family Album. Read a selection of poems here.

If you would like to contribute to my research please contact me at info@shereemack.com

Go read my latest journal entry and latest poem too! I like it!

Shangwe (is a female Swahili (East African) name and means Celebration), with Nicole Moore will be publishing a further two anthologies around the themes of 'Mothering' and 'Sexual Attraction' featuring Black and mixed race women writing in Britain. After the success of the first anthology, Brown Eyes, Nicole just wants to keep the books coming. And guess who will be featured in both these anthologies? Yes you've guessed it, ME! See a snick preview of one of my poems included here. Sexual Attraction Revealed is now out, with 8 of my poems in, yes 8. Here's a few for tasters!
